Terms of use
Plain language, because a parent shouldn't need a lawyer to set up a chore chart.
Last updated 27 July 2026.
These terms cover your use of the KinKudos app and this website. By creating an account you agree to them.
Who can use KinKudos
A parent or legal guardian, aged 18 or over, creates the family account. Only that parent — or another parent they invite — may create accounts for children in their care, and by doing so they confirm they are authorised to consent on that child's behalf. Children use the service through accounts a parent creates and controls.
What the service is
KinKudos records tasks, points, and rewards that your family defines. The points have no monetary value and are not redeemable for anything outside your own household's arrangements.
Allowance amounts are display-only
Any cash value, allowance balance, or “cash out” reward is a note for your family's reference. KinKudos never holds, transfers, or processes money, is not a bank or payment service, and takes no responsibility for what any family does or does not pay each other.
Reminders and timers are not enforcement
Reminders and reward countdowns are notifications scheduled on your device. They can be missed, delayed, or suppressed by your operating system, and they cannot restrict what any app or device does. Don't rely on them for anything that matters to safety.
Your account
Keep your password and parent PIN to yourself, and choose PINs your children can't guess if the PIN is what stands between them and the settings. You're responsible for activity under your account, and for the content you enter — task and reward names are visible to everyone in your family, including children.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use KinKudos to harass or harm anyone, to attempt to access another family's data, to disrupt or probe the service beyond good-faith security research reported to us privately, or to break the law with it.
Beta software
KinKudos is currently in beta. Features may change or be removed, and problems are likely. Keep anything you'd hate to lose recorded somewhere else too.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. If we make a significant change to these terms we'll update the date above and, where it matters, tell you in the app.
Ending your use
You can delete a child's account or your own from inside the app at any time; see the privacy policy for what that removes. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms.
Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you're a consumer you keep every right your local law gives you.
